Medicines for Children

Medicines for Children, www.medicinesforchildren.org.uk, is a trusted online resource providing clear, accurate and reliable information for parents and carers on over 240 commonly prescribed paediatric medicines. The website is a partnership between the RCPCH, the Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacy Group (NPPG), and the children’s charity WellChild.

Links to Medicines for Children information leaflets are included in the BNF for Children and it is also recommended in the Personal Child Health Record (the ‘Red Book’).

Over the past 12 months, the website has recorded more than 3 million downloads from every country of the world.

All information leaflets are written by experts in children’s medicines, including paediatricians, paediatric pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals with real world experience of the questions and concerns facing parents when giving medicines to children at home. Everything on the website is evidence led, quality assured and designed to support safe and effective medicines use— with the aim of helping parents but also making clinicians’ lives easier. We encourage healthcare professionals to download/ print and share our information leaflets with the families of children in your care.
