Myaware

We are the primary charity providing tailored support for all those affected by myasthenia in the UK. Myasthenia is rare, primarily autoimmune disease that affects around 20,000 people in the UK. There are also examples of congenital myasthenic syndromes. It can affect anyone, at any age, and as a charity we aim to support patients, their families, and reinforce the importance of a multi-disciplinary team in myasthenia care.

We bring the community together, fund research, and engage external policy makers to improve the outcomes of all patients living with myasthenia. Myaware celebrates its 50th birthday this year, marking a significant presence in the world of myasthenia support. We aim to raise awareness with the general public, neurologists, and primary care. By doing so, we hope we can reduce time to diagnosis and improve the arduous patient journey experienced by so many of our members.
